Passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 in Baldwin, MI. Michael was born July 17, 1980 in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Michael and Suzan (Whipple) Smead, who survive. Michael loved meeting new people and became a friend to everyone he met. He loved his motorcycle and working in the yard, as well as spending time with his dogs. Besides his parents, Michael is survived by a brother, Craig (Amber) Smead; grandparents, Keith and Jan Welburn, Lillian “Grace” Smead; nephews, Dakoda Smead and Noah VanLuke; niece, Addison Smead; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Michael is also survived by his loving fiancé. He was preceded in death by 2 grandfathers, William Whipple and Orville Smead. The family will receive friends on Sunday (7/8) from 5:00-8:00pm at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw, and again on Monday from 10:00-11:00am at the Lawton EMC Church, where funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00am, Pastor Roger Andrews officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
