Peggy passed away Wednesday evening, July 11, 2012 at her home in Gobles after a brief illness. She was born June 26, 1936 in Detroit the daughter of the late George D. and Esther C. (Norman) Berner. Peggy worked for over 27 years at HotelDeHamburger in Paw Paw. She also managed the Shortstop in Decatur and owned Glendale Grocery with her husband for 8 years, where she loved meeting and spending time with new people. On August 19, 1954 in Paw Paw, Peggy was united in marriage to Elsworth R. Coulson who preceded her in death on May 15, 1994. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Michael; brother, Thomas Berner, as well as a great grandson, Roland. Surviving are her children, Mark (Missy) Coulson, Kimberly Coulson, Scott (Sarah) Coulson and Kevin (Sheila White) Coulson; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brother, David (Pat) Berner; sister, Julie Pryor; many nieces and nephews. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled at this time. Private family services will be held at a later date with interment at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA.
