Bernard Linole Thrasher, 71, of Lawton, MI, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. He was born in Kalamazoo, on May 16, 1948, the son of Eugene and Wanetta (Kutz) Thrasher. He attended Comstock Schools and Kalamazoo Central High School. Bernard was married to Marie Anne Farrell in 1971. He worked for multiple businesses in the Kalamazoo area including St. Monica's Catholic School, Vermeulen Furniture, and Stewart & Clark. Bernie enjoyed fixing cars & trucks. He also liked going out hunting, fishing, and camping on his days off. He was involved with his children in many schools functions and the Boy Scouts. He was a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather. In his later years, he liked trying different restaurants but his favorite place to meet friends was Vineyard Cafe in Lawton.
Bernie is survived by his Brother, Gerald Thrasher, Children, Joyce Thrasher, David (Denise) Thrasher, Christopher (Melissa) Thrasher, Kathleen Thrasher, and Ryan Thrasher. Eighteen Grandchildren, Twenty Great-Grandchildren, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marie Anne, daughter, Sarah Denise, brothers, Wayne R. and Lester A. Thrasher.
A memorial luncheon will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. at Big T's Restaurant in Lawton, MI. Cremation has taken place and a burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kalamazoo. Arrangements by Adams Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
