Lori Ann Leach, 51, of Lawrence, MI, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born on July 8, 1968, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of G. Thomas and Gloria (Baris) Mathias.
Lori won the Michigan State Championship Sled Dog racing at just 6 years old. She then began to show Draft horses and she won all kinds of awards. She went on to graduate from Grace Christian High School and earned her Associates Degree from Southwestern Michigan College. Lori married David William Leach on October 23, 1999 and they began their family. She did some secretarial work in her earlier years but primarily she ran her own child care. She loved being able to be home with her children. Lori also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and camping but her world revolved around the kids. Lori was a very loving and giving person; She was always there to be a friend, a confidant, or just a listening ear. Lori always loved spending time with her family and she cherished time preparing holiday meals to gather the people she loved together. She will be dearly missed by those she leaves to cherish her memories.
Surviving are her Husband of 20 years, David Leach, Daughter, Emily Leach, Son, Christopher Leach, Parents, Thomas and Gloria Mathias, Father-in-law, Sam Leach, Sister, Lisa (Jack) Richmond, Nephews, Kyle Leach and Kanen Richmond, and a host of other loving friends and family. Lori was proceeded in death by her mother-in-law, Nancy Leach.
Friends will be received at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Ave., on Friday, October 4, 2019, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
A memorial gathering will be held at Adams Funeral Home, on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at 11:00 am with Pastor Frank Owen officiating.
Lunch to immediately follow at the Lawrence Township Fire Station.
