Thomas William Schmidt, 73 Years, of Lawton, MI, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. Born on December 9, 1945, in New York, NY, the son of Peter Herman Schmidt and Phyllis Rose Shandoff.
Tom worker at Seelye Ford for nearly 40 years until his retirement several years ago. It is well known that Tom loved golf and was a huge Michigan State fan, GO GREEN!
Tom is survived by his wife of 37 years, Christine (Wasko) Schmidt; daughter, Jenifer (Diamond) Whicker, grandson, Zackery Whicker; sisters, Suzie (Steve) Carr and Sandy (Mike) Jamildo; sister-in-law, Sally (Wasko)Arent; nephew, Anthony Arent; sister-in-law, Patricia (Wasko) Ferris; niece Alison Woldendorf and goddaughter Janelle Drucker.
Tom considered himself blessed with having not only his loving family but many strong and caring friendships which he thought of as his "other family." He loved each and every one of you with all of his heart.

Friends will be received at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Ave., on Thursday, June 6, 2019, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
Services will be held at Adams Funeral Home, on Friday, June 7, 2019, at 11:00am with Pastor John Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton.
Tom would like to be remembered as happy, loving, and colorful as was obvious from the bright colors he wore. Please feel free to be casual and support his colorful personality in your attire.
