Amanda Rebecca Imus, 43, of Mattawan, passed away suddenly after complications from a stroke surrounded by family on Saturday March 14, 2026, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
She was born February 3, 1983, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Marvin Imus and Linda (Conolly) Imus. Mandy was born premature and spent six weeks in the NICU.
She went to Mattawan Schools where she enjoyed forensics, choir, theatre and was a member of Odyssey of the Mind. She graduated from Mattawan High School in 2001. Mandy worked at Shopping Center and participated in theatre at the Paw Paw Village Players.
She graduated from Michigan State University in 2005. During college, she worked at Disney World through the Disney Collegiate Program. After graduation, she worked at Disney full time in various management positions from 20 years. She completed her Masters Degree from Webster University Orlando. Mandy contracted Sepsis in 2012 and faced various health issues, forcing her to retire from Walt Disney World. She loved her dogs, her friends and books. Mandy never met a stranger and her smile was always what people noticed first about her. She was quick-witted, kind, caring and selfless. Mandy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her parents, Marv and Linda Imus; many aunts and uncles, numerous cousins who were like her siblings, and her beloved dog, Nancy.
