Arlene "Peg" Jane Willsea, 94, of Gobles, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 10, 2026, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

She was born April 19, 1932, in Marcellus, Michigan, the daughter of James Furtenbaugh and Nellie (Bender) Furtenbaugh.

Peg worked at JC Penney in Allegan for many years. Peg loved to shop and enjoyed her job in retail, she could always get her hands on the good items first! Peg was also very crafty and made many different crafts throughout the years. She liked to plant flowers and look at the gorgeous scenery they provided. She also enjoyed watching the wildlife through her window, especially the hummingbirds and deer. Another hobby Peg loved was dancing to her big band music. Peg frequented the Van Buren County Senior Center with her friends. In her younger years, she traveled to many places with her late husband and had the opportunity to see many places she never thought she would.

She is survived by her children, LouAnn (Marc) Kubicek, Shelley (late Dan) Brindley, and Todd (Debbie) Willsea; 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Peg was preceded in passing by her parents, beloved husband, Lewis Willsea on December 8, 2008; son, Gary Willsea on January 10, 1972; and siblings, Robert Furtenbaugh, Dean Furtenbaugh and Betty Lockwood.
