passed away at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Audrey was born August 17, 1928 in Shoopman, KT, the daughter of the late Oscar and Edna (Smith) Cooper. Audrey loved sewing and working on craft projects. She also loved gardening and swimming. Above all else, she loved to cook huge meals for all her family and friends. When people showed up to the house, Audrey headed to the kitchen! On July 8, 1945, Audrey was united in marriage to Martin Coy, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by 3 children, Katherine Loy, James and Phillip Coy; half sisters, Charlene Wilson-Kimball and Lelia June Hatfield-Housouer; half brothers, Carl and Claude Cooper. Audrey is survived by 4 children, Dennis (Lynn) Coy, Thomas (Veronica) Coy, Linda (Gary) Verstrate and Andy Coy; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; half sisters, Veraline Cooper-Swain, Elsie Hatfield-Foltz and Alveta Hogue-Cooper. Per her wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday (4/14), 11:00am at the Valley View Bible Church at the corner of 4th Street and M43 in Kalamazoo, Pastor BJ Luce and Rev. Brian Lutz officiating. Interment will take place on Tuesday (4/17), 1:00pm at Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park in Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions may be directed to Heartland Hospice of Kalamazoo or to the family.
