Mattawan

Bruce E. Rigg's life began November 14, 1936 and extended over 85 years.  He was born at home to Marion and Remus Rigg.  He joined their family with Remus, a brother, who was two years older.  He was placed in the Tekonsha schools and lived with aunts, uncles and grandparents during post WWII times.  He was a 5 star athlete and played drums in the high school band.  Bruce belonged to 4H and FFA.  In 1953 he moved to Coldwater to live with an aunt and uncle.  Upon high school graduation in 1955, he tried a MSU short course in beef farming.  He decided that wasn't his future, joined the Air Force and was placed in military intelligence.  He had the highest security clearance and was part of the Strategic Air Command.  His overseas service was at Goosebay, Labrador.  He searched for and found a Tekonsha classmate at WMU.  Letters were exchanged and he and Ann Feiler married in 1959.  They moved to Altus, OK to finish his 4 year tour of duty.  Bruce always stood with hand over heart for our national anthem.
In 1964 he graduated from WMU, majoring in engineering.  He worked as a vice president and sales engineer at Kalamazoo's Wilson Brinker.  He supervised and built the family home on Austin Lake in Portage.  Two children, Theodore and Janine were welcomed to the family.  He immensely enjoyed his grandchildren, Sierra and Joey.  He also enjoyed golf, bowling, boating, Florida vacations and the annual fall family deer hunt.  He was an avid MSU sports fan.
Years later a retirement move was made to Lawton.  Medical issues became a problem and another move to Mattawan was made.
Bruce passed to Life Eternal on December 22, 2021.  Cremation has taken place.  Burial will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date.
