Carl Edwin Leedy, 77, of Paw Paw, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, Michigan.
He was born April 28, 1948, in Allegan, Michigan, the son of Harry Leedy and Frieda (Biter) Leedy.
Carl bravely served his country in the Vietnam War as a dog handler. The dogs he handled were trained to locate trip wires and tunnels. After his military service, he worked for and retired from the DNR where he built public accesses, and boat launches across the State of Michigan.
Carl was an avid woodworker and could often be found in his shop tinkering and working around his yard. He also was an avid gardener. Carl was truly an all-around outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a fan of racing, wrestling, and Gun Smoke.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Paula Kaye (Klutts) Leedy; sons, Thomas (Kim) Bush and David Alan Bush; grandchildren, Madelyn, Claire, and Simon Bush, and brother, Jim Leedy.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Leedy.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Avenue, Paw Paw. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Austin Cemetery in Paw Paw.
The family wishes to thank the nurses at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center, for their excellent care of Carl. He truly loved all of them.
