Colleen May Macyauski, 85, of Lawrence, passed away peacefully Monday, August 22, 2022 at her home.

Colleen was born September 4, 1936 in Grand Haven, Michigan, the daughter of Jerry and Mary (Baker) Blackmer. She grew up in Hart, Michigan, where she met her husband Albert. The couple was united in marriage on June 29, 1957. Albert preceded her in death, July 15, 2009.

For more than three decades, Colleen and her husband were dedicated to the Lawrence Lions Club where she started out as a Lioness. Colleen and Albert traveled around the country with the Lions Club. Colleen had a strong work ethic and enjoyed many years working in the banking industry. Following her career in banking, she helped her best friend, Sue Oppold to operate a convenience store, an adventure she truly loved. Colleen was an avid reader in her spare time. She enjoyed vacationing to Traverse City in the summers and during the winter months, she enjoyed getting away from the cold and vacationed in Fort Lauderdale Florida.

She is survived by her five children, Mike Macyauski, Mary (Chet) Kendell, Paul Macyauski,  Tom (Julie) Macyauski and John (Melissa) Macyauski, 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Colleen was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Blackmer and one sister, Barbara  Graulau.
