Daniel Edwin Hasse, 70, of Paw Paw, passed away, Monday November 13, 2023, at in his home in Paw Paw.
He was born May 26, 1953, in Roselle, Illinois, one of the eight children of Herbert Hasse and Bertha (March) Hasse. From a young age, Bertha taught her children the importance of religion and the Truth of Christ. Daniel grew up in Roselle until moving to Pullman, Michigan in high school. As a young boy, he enjoyed driving his go-cart around the neighborhood and doing fun activities with his friends such as hunting, fishing, ice fishing and golfing. Daniel Graduated from Bloomingdale High School in 1971 and went on to become a Journeyman Electrician. He worked at Shippac/Ferguson as a service technician for 20 years!
Daniel married his high school sweetheart, Clara Webster and together they had two beautiful children. In 1989, the couple divorced, and Daniel re-married to Laurie Hazel. Laurie previously had two children who Daniel gladly accepted as his own.
Daniel adored his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed taking them fishing, skiing and tubing. He looked forward to seeing them all together during their annual family "get-together's". He liked to go on fishing trips to Dissant and WauWau Lakes and Saginaw Bay. His most memorable trip was going to Canada to catch perch and walleye! Dan was described as having a "laid-back" personality. He liked to relax at his home while watching the Chicago Bears, documentaries, the History channel or mafia movies. He also frequently listened to "oldies" and Christian music. Most of all, Daniel was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren, he always made sure they knew that. He also stayed true to his faith and never wavered; always saying "Don't worry, God will take care of it".
