Daryl Duane Kovach

Daryl Duane Kovach, 69, of Mattawan, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at his home in Mattawan.

He was born October 29, 1955, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Peter Kovach and Charlene (Shay) Kovach.

Daryl loved his job as a heavy equipment operator in Michigan and Arizona. While living in Arizona, he and his brother, Joe worked as actors in the Rawhide Western Town and Event Center. Daryl was an avid hunter, fisherman, reader and researcher, he loved to go hiking and identify different plant species and medicinal mushrooms that grew in the woods. He could also be found listening to Loanstar, Willie Nelson and most recently MercyMe!

Daryl is survived by his life companion, Melissa Tyler; furry companion, Paco; feathered friend Qwaz; brothers, Mark (Mary) Kovach and Dale (Karen) Kovach and sister, Cheryl (Rick) Halseth.

Daryl was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Kathy DuBois and brother, Joe Kovach.

Cremation will take place. A celebration of Daryl's life will be held at a later date at the family home.
