David S. Pausch, 82, of Lawrence, Michigan and Orlando, Florida, passed away on Sunday, February 15, at AdventHealth Hospital, Winter Garden, Florida. A man known for his integrity and quiet generosity, David lived a life shaped by deep roots in the community where he was raised.
Born October 18, 1943, David was the son of Stewart Pausch and Lucille (Knapp) Pausch, both of whom preceded him in death. He grew up in Lawrence near his grandfather’s farm in the countryside surrounding Lawrence, where he learned early the values of hard work, humility, and responsibility. Those qualities stayed with him throughout his life.
David’s then-future wife, Natalie (Andrejczuk) Pausch, grew up on nearby family farm. As a teenager, David helped out with harvests on the Andrejczuk farm. What started as a casual friendship later blossomed into a marriage in 1971 with a love story lasting more than fifty years.
After graduating from Lawrence High School, David continued his education at Michigan State University. Following his college graduation, he served in the United States Navy, spending part of his service aboard ship during a Mediterranean deployment in the late 1960s. His time at sea broadened his view of the world and deepened his sense of duty, discipline, and camaraderie.
After completing his military service, David returned to Michigan and began an executive career with Whirlpool Corporation, contributing to one of the region’s most important employers during a period of significant growth and innovation. Later in life, in Florida during 35 years with Raymond James, he provided thoughtful financial guidance and built lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.
David is survived by his wife, Natalie; his sister, Connie (Pausch) Wilson; his niece, Ronda Wilson; and his nephew, Jeff Wilson. Uncle Dave is also fondly remembered by extended family on Natalie’s side, including two generations of many nieces and nephews.
Those who knew David remember him as thoughtful, dependable, and quietly humorous. He had a gift for making others feel at ease, and he approached life with humility and grace. His legacy lives on in the family and friends who were shaped by his example.
There will be a service to honor David’s life Friday, February 27, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. Family and friends are invited to visit from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, following services.
