Edmund Edward Uminn, 82, of Paw Paw, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Beacon Hospital in Kalamazoo.
He was born February 10, 1943, in Gobles, Michigan, one of 15 children to Walter Stanley Uminn and Henrietta (Laning) Uminn.
Ed was a very proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He bravely served his country from 1961-1967.
He was the owner of Kalamazoo Fence Company. He also was a beekeeper and enjoyed canning honey for his family, friends and neighbors. He was an avid gardener and grew countless different fruits, vegetables and herbs to share with others. Ed could often be found frequenting the local restaurants, seeking out a good meal!
He was a jokester and wise guy. He was always teasing people to try and make them laugh and was always successful at it! Where others saw rust, dust, and worn-out items, Ed saw possibility. Whether it was tools, equipment, trucks or other objects, he saw the potential and always tried to restore them and give them a second chance to shine.
He is survived by his wife, Gail (Masten) Uminn; biological daughter, Theresa (Uminn) Hoyt; daughter, Leslie (Craig) Owens; grandchildren, Tommy, Ally, Cody, Carli and Cory, along with many nieces and nephews.
Edmund was preceded in death by his parents and son, Stephen Rabb.
Ed will be laid to rest privately in Almena Cemetery.
