Ella Mae Curtis

Ella Mae Curtis was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Elizabeth and Albert F. Queto. She was preceded in death by her mother and father.

Ella Mae was a proud military spouse who shared 47 years of marriage with Robert Kenneth Curtis. Throughout his military career, she supported her husband through the demands of military life, raised their girls, and served as a Family Readiness Group (FRG) leader, supporting other military wives and families along the way.

Ella Mae was strong-willed, independent, and full of life. She was fiercely protective of her children and grandchildren. She loved to travel, experience different cultures, taste authentic foods, and enjoy the excitement of casinos. She was proud of her Native American heritage and found joy in her plants, gardening, and canning. She also had a huge heart for animals and volunteered at the ASPCA for several years.

Ella Mae passed August 21, 2026. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert Kenneth Curtis; her three daughters, Sabrina Buchko of Mission Viejo, CA, Tanya Elliott of Belton, TX; and Dina Garcia (JJ Garcia) of Temple,TX ; her grandchildren, Brittany Hernandez, Autumn Elliott, Anthony Garcia, and Cody Smith; 11 great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Matthew Morgan, Charlie Morgan, Al Roy Queto, Kenneth Queto, Albert F. Queto, and Anthony J. Queto.

Ella Mae leaves behind a legacy of strength, independence, and resilience. She will be remembered for her strong spirit, adventurous heart, and love of family and animals.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, CNAs, and entire staff at Bronson Commons for the compassion, kindness, and care they showed Ella Mae and our family. Your support meant more than words can express.

A memorial service will be held in Texas at a later date. Additional details will be announced. Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
