Ernest Harvey Smith

Ernest Harvey Smith, 93, of Paw Paw, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Ely Manor in Allegan.

He was born December 24, 1931, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Ernest Adelbert Smith and Velma Louise (Porter) Smith.

Ernest was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Paw Paw and dedicated many hours to volunteer events. He also proudly served in the United States Air Force.

He is survived by his son, Ted Roberts; daughter, Rebekah (Cory) Jones; grandchildren, Alishia (John Snyder) Jones, Ashley Jones, Brittany (Michael Weglarz) Wanink, Brandon (Shelby) Wanink and Cody (Krystyn) Roberts; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Elizabeth, and Dustin, and sister Lillian Reynolds.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Phyllis Ann (Moon) Smith and siblings, George Arnold Smith and Anita Elachibar.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Avenue, Paw Paw. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Ernest will be laid to rest with full military honors at Fort Custer National Cemetery immediately following.
