Paw Paw
Gene passed this life Sunday, July 17, 2011 at his home. He was born March 22, 1924 in Archbold, Ohio the son of the late Edward J. and Marie L. (Markle) Schuster. Gene was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army as a military policeman. He was a life member and Past Commander of the American Legion, McGowan-Johnson Post # 68, Paw Paw, life member and Past Chef de Gare of the Kalamazoo County Voiture 161, 40/8 and a member of the Past Commanders Club of the Paw Paw American Legion and secretary for the 4th District Service Officers Association. Gene enjoyed music and playing the keyboard. On August 22, 1953 in Butler, IN., Gene was united in marriage to Laurella Mae Fike who preceded him in death on Feb. 25, 2009. She was also preceded in death by a son, Dale, brother, Jerry Schuster, and a sister, Rose Ann Kayser. Surviving are 3 sons, Earl (Bonnie) Schuster of Albion, IN, Mark and David (Angel) Schuster of Paw Paw; daughter, Ellen (Dave) Pippenger of Albion, IN; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Family will received friends on Thursday, July 21 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held following visitation at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. John Hill officiating.
