Frances Thomson (nee Calay) November 20, 1927 – April 14, 2026. Cherished daughter of the late Alfred and Frances Calay (nee Broderick). Beloved wife of the late John Thomson. Devoted mother of Andrew (Anne). Loving grandmother of Claire, Allison, Suzanne, and Benjamin. Dear sister of Helen (deceased), Jane (deceased), Alfred (deceased), Edward (deceased), and Catherine (deceased). Our dear aunt, cousin and friend.
Frances attended Paw Paw High School before attending Nazareth College. She worked as a one-room schoolteacher and later worked for the Upjohn Company. She married John Thomson on November 6, 1965.
She loved crafts, such as sewing, ceramics, and knitting. She was an active member of St. Monica Parish until moving to St. Louis, Missouri to be closer to her grandchildren.
A service will be celebrated at 11am on May 11, 2026, at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Avenue, Paw Paw, Michigan, followed by a graveside service at St. Mary’s Cemetery with a luncheon immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres USA.
