passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family early in the morning on Thursday, March 08, 2012. Hilario was born January 11, 1936 in La Posta, Reynosa (Mexico), the son of the late Benito and Maria De Jesus (Cabazos) Loera. He was a long time member of the Rios De Agua Viva church in Lawrence and loved being involved in the church. For many years, Hilario owned and operated Las Juanita's restaurant in Kalamazoo. In 1968, Hilario was united in marriage to his loving wife, Maria (Gomez), who survives. Also surviving are 4 children, Jose M. Gamez, Maria C. (Daniel) McIntyre, Jaime (Joanie) Gamez and Emma (Frank) Diaz; 26 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Roberto Gamez. Family will receive friends on Sunday (3/11) from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00pm, Pastor Enio Garcia officiating. Interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Mattawan. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for funeral expenses or to the Rios De Agua Viva Church, Lawrence.
