Jackie Lynn Hitt, age 61, of Decatur, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Rose Arbor Hospice after a long courageous battle with Lung Cancer.

Born on June 29, 1964, in Decatur, Alabama, Jack was the son of the late James Roy and Earline Hitt. A hardworking and dedicated man, he spent his career ensuring things ran smoothly as the Head of Maintenance at Complete Metal Finishing.

Known to all as a true "Jack of all trades," there wasn’t a car, truck, or broken item that Jack couldn’t fix. He was always working on a project and loved to lend his skills to anyone in need. He had a deep passion for motorcycles, owning several over the years, and loved the freedom of a good ride.

When he wasn’t working with his hands, Jack could often be found relaxing to his favorite classic Westerns, including Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and The Rifleman. He was a big fan of country music, frequently listening to rock too including his all-time favorite singer Kid Rock. Above all, Jack will be remembered for his vibrant personality. He loved telling jokes, sharing laughter, and possessed a rare, welcoming spirit that made everybody feel like they were family.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Susan (Sue); his children, Phillip (Clarice) Hitt, Connie (Jared) Roden, Craig Hitt, Crystal Dalrymple, John (Meagan) Hannah, Michael Prevatte, Christopher Prevatte, and Tiffany (Bailey) Kline; and his cherished grandchildren, Katey, Caleb, Melanie, Waylon, Jackson, Jade, Willow, Ava, Jorden, Senya, and Toby. He is also survived by his siblings, Elizabeth Harville, Tom (Cindy) Godsey, Anita Smith, Phillip (Sharron) Miller, Rick (Lucy) Hitt, Tony (Stacey) Hitt, and Scott Hitt, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Earline Hitt; his brothers, Willie Lee and Roger Godsey; his son, Corey J. Hitt; his stepdaughter, Brittany Howard and brothers and sisters in law, Don Smith, Doc Harville, Donna Godsey and Lynn Hitt.
