James J. Dutcher, 89, of Paw Paw, MI, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019 in Niles, MI. He was born March 3, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Wilbur W. Dutcher and Catherine L. Dutcher.

He was married to Bernice Russel on June 30, 1951. She preceded him in death on September 20, 1989. Their children Dawn (Michael) Schwartzman, Lynn M. Dutcher, Paul (Melinda) Dutcher, Phil (Lisa) Dutcher, and Jill (Dan) Dutcher are left to remember his legacy. Also surviving are his eight Grandchildren and his Wife, Jean Taylor.

Jim married Jean Taylor in Hawaii, on July 16, 1992. He and Jean resided in Paw Paw, Michigan. Jim was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the American Legion. He served honorably in the United States Navy Reserve from June 1947 to October of 1951. He then served two years of active duty with the U.S. Navy in Korea from October 1951 until his discharge in October of 1953. In his younger years, Jim enjoyed playing and coaching hockey. He was an avid U of M Football fan in his later years.

A memorial gathering will take place at a later date.
