Jerry Lee Pearson, 90, of Lawrence, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Maple Lake Assisted Living in Paw Paw.

He was born August 3, 1936, in Hammond, Indiana, the son of Milford Pearson and Margaret (Molenaar) Pearson.

Jerry enlisted in the United States Navy after high school and proudly served his country. Jerry was extremely proud of his military service and always incredibly patriotic. He loved his country deeply. One of Jerry's greatest honors was getting to go on the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. This was a moment he cherished for the rest of his life. Jerry was also active in the Lawrence American Legion Post #0174 and the VFW Post of Decatur. When he moved into Maple Lake Assisted Living, he wanted to make sure the facility had the correct flag hanging outside. He educated the staff on the flag and flag etiquette. There is now a plaque on the flag pole honoring Jerry.

Jerry enjoyed volunteering and was a lifetime member and past District Governor of the Paw Paw Lions Club. He was at every food drive, community events, meetings, and Bingo! Jerry also served as a volunteer fireman for the Lawrence Fire Department. In his early years, Jerry was a little league coach for youth baseball. He enjoyed the lifelong companionship of his friend, Klaas Maring and the numerous friendships he developed throughout his life.

Jerry was very creative and handy. He owned and operated MJ's Lawn Care for many years before retiring. Jerry loved the outdoors and mowing his and his clients lawns. If Jerry was outside, he was content. He also enjoyed fishing with his grandsons and snowmobiling in the winter months.

Jerry's faith was a huge part of his life. He was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Paw Paw.

He is survived by his children, Karen Pearson, Beverly (Danny) McMullen, and Jeff Pearson; grandsons, Chase Taylor and Tyler Pearson; sisters, Martha Darcy and Mary Johnson; and sister-in-law, Barbara Green.

Jerry was preceded in passing by his parents, his beloved wife, Marjorie Pearson in 2017; son, Jerry Scott Pearson in 1998; and sister, Carol Scott.
