John Truman Allen

John Truman Allen, 87, of Lawton, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026. He was born on April 9, 1939, to Ray and Hazel (Crowell) Allen in Kalamazoo, Michigan. John graduated from Lawrence High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the Navy and Reserves. John was a skilled meat cutter understanding the anatomy and characteristics of various meats using a variety of tools to perform his job to keep up with customer demand.

He was a loving husband of 61 years to Patricia (Barkalow), and a proud father to Tammy and Michael. John loved vacationing up north at the family cabin, fishing, hunting with his son, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Tammy (Todd) Riggs and Michael (Laura) Allen; and five grandchildren, Andrew (Jackie) Riggs, Matthew (Erin) Riggs, Amanda (Steve) Maring, Stephanie (Joey) Bernard, Trazelle (Jared) Tickner, Joshua (Alyssa) Heystek, Jason Heystek; and fourteen great grandchildren.

John is preceded in death by his wife Patricia, his parents, Ray & Hazel Allen and brother, Thomas Allen.

John will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery. No service is scheduled at this time.
