On November 19th, 2025, Kathy left us unexpectedly and left behind many of us who loved her for being herself.
Kathy was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 6th, 1950, to Phyllis and Marvin Stinson. Kathy spent her childhood in Clearfield, Utah with her family. Upon graduating from high school, she attended The University of Utah, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. She later earned a second Bachelor's degree at Weber State University. She was driven to help others especially physically and mentally challenged, and did so until retiring from the workforce. Upon retirement she cared for her family, including her mother, father, and mother-in-law until their passing.
In 2007, she and her husband moved from Utah to Lawton, Michigan to be near her only son and daughter in law as they were expecting their first child, Kathy’s only beloved grandchild, Haydn. Kathy enjoyed living in Michigan, seeing her son become a father, and being a Yia Yia to her grandson, being with him as he has grown into a young adult about to graduate from High School. Kathy had an enigmatic love of animals her entire life, always wanting to build her own animal rescue out of her home. She loved all living things, and believed even the smallest creatures, especially cats, bunnies, dogs and even mice needed her to thrive.
She leaves behind her beloved husband Ron Perkins of 50 years, her son Kristofer Perkins, his lovely wife Korrie (Haney) Perkins, and her cherished Grandson Haydn Perkins. She also leaves behind her brother, Jerry Stinson (Kay) of Long Beach, California.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis and Marvin Stinson.
