Larry Alan Morrison, 80, of Lawton, passed away peacefully surrounded by family during the late hours of Friday June 21, 2024.
He was born June 26, 1943, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of James Morrison and Ruth (Hyde) Morrison.
To know Larry was to know his love of Corvettes. Larry owned 9 beloved Corvettes during his life! He was a 58-year member of the Kalamazoo Corvette Club and a lifetime member of the National Council of Corvettes International. Through these organizations, Larry met many lifelong friends. He enjoyed taking his Corvettes for drives, keeping them in pristine condition and hanging out with his fellow Corvette buddies. Fitting with his love for fast cars, Larry was also an avid NASCAR fan. Although his love for his cars was deep, it could never come close to the love he had for his family and friends.
He is survived by the love of his life, Judith M. (Jamison) Morrison; daughter, Sheila (Daniel) Peebles; granddaughter, MaryAlyce Peebles; sisters, Judyth (Irwin) Bolenbaugh and Linda Allman; many nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews and four great great nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carolyn Taylor.
Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, July 1, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Avenue, Paw Paw. A funeral service will commence at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Packer officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. A reception will be held immediately following the internment service at Main Street Pub, 5462 Gull Road, Kalamazoo, MI 49048.
The family asks to please refrain from sending flowers. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution of the Spina Bifida Association.
