Lucinda "Cindy" Marie Whippo

Lucinda "Cindy" Marie Whippo, 68, of Lawton, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

She was born January 11, 1957, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Peter DePouw and Sally (Burchett) Conolly.

Cindy spent over 20 years working in the Lawton Community School district. She held various positions throughout the years, but her favorite was teaching the elementary school children.

Cindy was a fun, outgoing and loving person. She loved camping and the outdoors, and always accompanied her husband, Mike, on fishing trips. If there was a party or gathering, Cindy was ready to go! Above all, she took great care of her family and cherished every moment spent with them. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, James "Mike" Whippo; daughter, Talyn (Jonathon) Herson; son, Randy Michael (Sheldon) Kinney; grandchildren, Brody and Jobi Herson; sisters, Sabrina (Paul) Huff and Shar (Rusty) Newhouse and father, Peter DePouw. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sally Conolly.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Avenue, Paw Paw. Those planning a memorial are asked to direct contributions to Mike, to assist with expenses.
