Marilyn Marie Golisek, age 79, of Paw Paw, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, June 29, 2022. She was born in Lansing, Michigan, September 30, 1942 to the late Lee Ward Hilliard and Ileene LaMae (Carmoney) Potter.

Marilyn was united in marriage to Robert Golisek on August 26, 1961 whom she met while attending Michigan State University. While Bob was finishing college, she worked part time at Kroger’s and Sears. She also sold real estate for several years. She had a love for reading and passion for Steven King novels. She owns every book that King published. She was a huge Elvis Presley fan. Prior to the onset of Alzheimer’s, Marilyn enjoyed playing Bingo. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family. She had an extensive collection of Beanie Babies that she enjoyed.

Donating her time to help others was something Marilyn was always willing to do. She was a loving foster parent to many and hosted several girls from the Big League Softball World Series. She also would undertake volunteer tasks in her community, such as at the annual “Paw Paw Days Classic Car Show” and in Florida at “Give Kids the World”.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Robert “Bob” Golisek, her son, Robert “Bob” Golisek and Ms. Terrie Mathis (Significant Other) of Norcross, GA, two daughters, Sharyl Golisek of Paw Paw and Julie (Jeffrey) Woodworth of Decatur, three grandsons, Ryan (Chelsea Beckmann) Golisek of Portland, MI, Reese (Julianne) Golisek-Wisser of Kalamazoo and Kyle Woodworth of Decatur, two granddaughters, Courtney (Jeff Nazarians) Woodworth of Portage and Kendal Woodworth of Portage, great grandson Isaiah Golisek-Wisser of Kalamazoo. Marilyn is also survived by her sisters, Marian (Hilliard) Hiner of Lansing, MI and Rossetta Wilson of Tampa, FL, half-brother, Jerry Hilliard of Dimondale, MI, brother-in-law Wayne Hiner of Mason, MI, two sisters-in-law, Donna (Robert) Debnar of Lake Wales, FL and Jodi Nelc of Neenah, WI.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Hilliard and Ilene “LaMae” (Carmoney) Potter and her brother, Richard Potter.

Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, July 5, 2022 beginning at 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave, Paw Paw, where a funeral ceremony will commence at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Lonny Carpenter officiating. Following the service, there will be a reception held at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Centrica Care Navigators Hospice or to the Alzheimer’s Association.

The family would like to thank Rosie, Lori and Alexis’s from Centrica Care Navigators Hospice for their kind care over the past few months.
