Michael Douglas Bates

Michael Douglas Bates passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at the age of 52. Mike was born on October 3, 1970, in Kalamazoo MI. He was the son of Harold and Megan (Sprague) Bates and brother to Jodie Bates. Mike was the father of Kodi Bates and Chelsea (Bates) Zarate. He was the grandfather of Jaime Zarate Jr., Cameron Zarate, Logan Bates and Riley Bates. He was very proud of his grandchildren and loved them more than he could express. Mike was into Volkswagen beetles, dune buggies, motorcycles and anything that was loud and fast. A memorial celebration will be held this summer for Mike’s family and friends (Announcement to come on facebook).
