Nancy Marie Kolosar, 87, of Paw Paw, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
She was born June 3, 1938, in Ravenna Michigan, the daughter of John Hragyil and Sophie (Beres) Hragyil.
Nancy graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1956 and went to work at various jobs until being hired at Upjohn Company. She married George Kolosar on February 27, 1960 and together they owned and operated Kolosar Electric.
Nancy had many hobbies and interested throughout her life, with the most notable being her dedication to her lawn. She could often be found raking leaves and acorns, mowing the grass, gardening, and making sure everything was just right. Nancy was known for being a talented baker. Every Wednesday, Nancy would go out to lunch with her friends. She was a sports fan, specifically for the Red Wings and Tigers. She was a season ticket holder for the Kalamazoo K-Wings.
Nancy was surprisingly good with streaming TV and loved watching her soap opera, “The Young and the Restless”. Nancy was a certified scuba recovery diver and was the first female to go under the ice in the state of Michigan. Above all else, Nancy adored her family. She loved when her children and grandchildren came to visit and wanted nothing more than to spend time with them.
She is survived aby her children, Mike (Jenny) Kolosar, Kim (Rich) VanGalder, and Dan (Wendy) Kolosar; grandchildren, Kaylie VanGalder, Taylor Nasrey-Kolosar, Nathan Kolosar, Cameron VanGalder, and Mitchel VanGalder.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; son, Jeff Kolosar, and siblings, Helen Melvin, Lillian Adams, Alice Duncan, Frank Hragyil, and John Hragyil.
Cremation has taken place. In accordance to Nancy’s wishes, there will be no public services at this time.
