Norman Raymond Pfeifle

Norman Raymond Pfeifle, 85, of Paw Paw, MI, passed away Monday, December 26, 2022, at Bronson Lakeview Hospital.

He was born May 14, 1937, in Ashley, North Dakota, the son of Gottlieb G. Pfeifle and Emilia (Goltz) Pfeifle.

Norm grew up on a "small" thousand-acre farm in North Dakota, where he began school in a small schoolhouse at the edge of the property. Growing up with desolate surroundings, forced Norm to learn construction and handy work at a young age. Norms talents continued to grow over the years, and he was always willing to lend a hand with a project or helping repair something. He also helped others by donating blood for many years. His Generosity and caring nature led him to get involved in service work. When Norm returned to Paw Paw, he began a career with the village doing electrical work. He then went on to EMT training and worked as an EMT for Thompson & Hawley, caring for those in need. At the same time, Norm joined the Paw Paw Fire Department, where he would end up serving in most positions, including Chief. He was dedicated to the fire department and enjoyed teaching the young firefighters as they entered the department. Norm found his longtime career with Murch, later becoming Coca-Cola. His work eventually took him to other areas of the country, training and teaching employees.

In his free time, Norm enjoyed trips up north to his cabin. Being an avid fisherman and hunter, he never took more than he needed. He also loved the trips to Lake Michigan where he would take his boat to go fishing.

In June 1959, he married Janet (Quigno) Pfeifle who survives.

He is also survived by his daughter, Cynthia E. (Jeffrey) Willson, his son, Mark Steven Pfeifle, three grandchildren, Allen Nothdruft, Zachary Pfeifle and Ashley (Cody) Baumstein, two sisters, Erna and JoAnn (Lester), along with many nieces and nephews.

Norm was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ericha Pfeifle, his brother, LeRoy and his sisters, Violet, Nehemiah, and Luella.

Family and friends will visit Friday, December 30, 2022, beginning at 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. A life celebration will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Packer officiating. Interment will follow at the Wildey Cemetery.
