Hartford

Pamela Grigsby, 65, of Hartford, passed away in the early hours of December 6, 2025, after a long and courageous fight, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Pamela was a loving mother of her children and adoring wife to her husband.

Pamela was born on September 21, 1960, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Isaac and Patricia Kelly.

She was a loving and caring woman, always giving her time to others, and she incorporated that into her motherhood. She met her husband, Ernest Grigsby in 1988, while working at the Freestone Pickle Factory, it truly was love at first sight. They both shared a love for their family and decided to start their own.

As a mother, she was generous, loving, and kind. She never judged any of her children and loved them with all of her heart. Later on, Pamela became a grandmother and great-grandmother and loved that her family was growing larger, and she provided the same love to her grandchildren.

In her spare time, Pamela loved to read books, and make sweet treats for her family, who adore her with all of their hearts. Pamela was a comfort to all, and kind to everyone she met. She was a light that shined bright in any room she walked into. She was full of love and family was her world.

Pamela was preceded in death by her father, Isaac Kelly and grandmother, Wilma Watson.

Pamela is survived by her husband, Ernest Grigsby; mother, Patricia Kelly; children, Victoria Matthews, Thomas (Ashley) Mullins, Wendy (Tony) Green, Clarissa Grigsby, Amelia (Hunter) Luttrull, Steven Phelps, Ray Arter, Marijane Gaddy and Richard (Katelyn) Bradshaw; grandchildren, Tori (Travis) Carothers, Jared Krestakos, Kayla Krestakos, Aiden Carfield, Joseph Carfield, Brayden Grigsby and Rider Mullins; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Alexis, Elizabeth and Ethan Carothers. Pamela is also survived by so many more people she loved and cared for, especially her dog (more like her son) Akilleez, and best friend, Amy Watson, whom she loved as a sister.

Cremation will take place. There will be a service for those who would like to pay their final respects at a later date. Please check back.
