Pete "Coach" passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at the Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. Peter was born March 19, 1948 in Paw Paw, MI the son of the late Peter and Evelyn Mihelich. Peter was a very proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Vietnam war earning the Bronze Star, Silver Star, Army Presidential Unit Citation and Navy Unit Citation. He loved motorcycles and was the current president of the American Veterans Motorcycle Club, Lawton Chapter. He was also a very avid golfer involved in the PGA and was a past golf coach in California. On June 23, 2005 in Lawton, MI Pete was united in marriage to his loving wife, Anna (Kennedy) Mihelich, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Mark Mihelich; step-children, Mitchell (Sonya), Tony, Christopher and Nicole Ponting; grandchildren, Maryjane and Zaid Ponting; brother, Jack (Esther) Mihelich; 2 nephews. Per his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday (8/4) at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw at 11:00 am with military honors, Pastor Bill Chapman officiating. Interment will take place on Monday (8/6), 1:00 pm at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
