Ruthann Ampey

Ruthann Ampey, 81, of Kalamazoo, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Beacon Kalamazoo in Kalamazoo.

She was born September 11, 1944, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of the late George Thomas Russell and Helen Ruth (Peake) Russell.

On August 24, 1963, she married Wilbur Glenn Ampey who survives. Ruthann took great pride in gardening, interior decorating and crocheting.

She is also survived by her two sons, Wilbur G. (Corby) Ampey Jr., and Greg (Lori) Ampey; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, seven brothers, Thomas Russell, George Russell, Andrew Russell, Edgar (Sophia) Russell, Craig (Ann) Russell, Keith (Jane) Russell, Randy Russell; three sisters, Mildred Harris, Jacquelin Overton, and Sandy (Leonard) Hall.

Ruthann was preceded in death by her brother, Danny Russell.

Cremation has taken place. Ruthann will be placed to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI.
