passed away at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 17, 2012. Shirley was born on October 28, 1935 in Elmira, MI, the daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Fry) Swank. Shirley was a long time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Paw Paw where she served as a Eucharist Minister, as well as a Religious Ed instructor. She was also a member of the State Police retiree's local group and loved spending time in her perennial garden. On May 14, 1960 Shirley was united in marriage to her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, Charles Kenney, who survives. Also surviving are her children, Jack (Shelly) Kenney, Mark (Maria) Kenney, Jean (Andy) Sands, Joan (George) Wilder, Ann (Max) Corning; grandchildren, Mary Ellen Kenney, Mark Kenney, Catalina Kenney, Correy Sands, Cassie (Brent) Jones, Chris Sands, Jessie Wilder, Alissa (David) Stewart, David Corning and Hannah Corning; great granddaughter, Hailey Jones; sisters, Mary Dailey and Arlene Polter; brothers, Charles Swank and Darwin Swank; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Anna and Marian. Family will receive friends on Wednesday (6/20) from 6:00-8:00pm at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw, where a rosary service will take place at 7:30pm. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, 11:00am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw. Interment will follow at the St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church or West Michigan Cancer Center.
