Steven Richard Tapper

Steven "Steve" Richard Tapper, 65, of Paw Paw, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Born on October 9, 1960, in Paw Paw, Michigan, he was the youngest child of John H. Tapper Sr. and Jean Anne (Cavender) Tapper.

Steve took immense pride in his family and his work as the Operations Manager at Tapper Chevy. Outside of work, he embraced life to the fullest through outdoor adventures—whether riding four-wheelers and side-by-sides, spending time on his boat, or simply enjoying a good time. Above all, his family anchored his world, and he cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren.

In 1979, Steve married Jeri (Moses) Tapper, the love of his life and his true partner, who preceded him in death on November 1, 2016. Though his passing was unexpected, his family finds comfort knowing he has been reunited with Jeri.

He is survived by his sons, Christopher (Ann) Tapper and Craig (Megan) Tapper; Grandchildren, Jack, Samantha, Erin, Brooke, and Colin Tapper, as well as Mitchell, Matthew, and Adeline; Siblings, John (Linda) Tapper Jr., Thomas (Sheryl) Tapper, Julie (late Ted) Gromek, Bill (Sue) Tapper, James (Tammy) Tapper, David (Susan) Tapper, and Michael Tapper, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jean Anne Tapper; his wife, Jeri Tapper; and his brother, Terry (Linda) Tapper.

Family and friends may gather for visitation on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W.
