Susan Renee Douglas, 55, of Lawton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at her home in Lawton.

She was born July 27, 1971, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Edward Neal Melson and Geralea Sue (Fields) Melson.

Susan worked at Lawton Community Schools for many years before her retirement. She was a behavioral specialist and also drove the school bus. Susan enjoyed fishing on the many lakes around, drawing and other art forms, and going to the casino with her mom and sister, Amanda. Above all else, her faith and family were the center of her life. She loved attending church and learning the word of God. She adored her children and grandchildren and time spent with them was her favorite.

On June 14, 1996, she married the love of her life, Timothy Steven Douglas who survives.

She is also survived by her sons, Connor (Emily Smith) Douglas and Dalton Douglas; granddaughter, Laynee Douglas; siblings, Sherry (Tim) Bulson, Rebecca Melson, Amanda Smith, Michael (Tammy) Melson and Brian Melson; mother, Geralea Melson; along with nieces and nephews, Jared Bulson, Nathan Melson, Nick Melson, Triton Smith, Edward Melson, Dayleah Smith and Zandria Wingate, Tara Melson and her cherished aunt, Claudia Chetto.
