Tim passed away Thursday evening, Feb. 13, 2014 at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born October 5, 1959 in Kalamazoo the son of Maynard L. and Laura F. (Walsh) Hewitt. He was employed by Coca-Cola Foods in Paw Paw and later Lyons Machine Builders as a machine repairman. He enjoyed restoring cars, NASCAR, and the out-doors including hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Journey Family Church, Gobles. Surviving are 4 sons, Justin Hewitt of Gobles, Ryan and Brandon both of Tampa, FL and Timothy Hewitt II of AL; 5 grandchildren; father, Maynard (Bonnie) Hewitt of Gobles, mother, Laura (Floyd) Sloan of Kalamazoo; 2 brothers, Patrick Hewitt of Kalamazoo and Michael Hewitt of Decatur, MI; sister, Starr Horrigan of Grand Rapids; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his dear companion, Maria Hewitt. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2014 at Journey Family Church, 313 Depot Street, Gobles, MI 49055. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
