Windle A. Terry, 77, of Lawton, passed away Wednesday January 13, 2021 at his home in Lawton, MI.
He was born September 26, 1943 in Courtland , Alabama, the son of the late Auburn Terry and Susie (Kelly) Terry.
Windle enjoyed driving semi for over 48 years, he also worked as a heavy equipment operator in excavating. He had many interest and hobbies, he loved to hunt, fish and work in his garden. Most of all, Windle had a passion for drag racing.
On July 5, 2003 he married Patricia (Bauer) Terry who survives.
He is also survived by two sons, James (Belinda) Terry and Windle Lee Terry; one daughter, Jewel (Charles) Hurn, step-daughter, Nicole Smoot, two sisters, Elaine (John) Mann and Perl Read; three brothers, Fred (late Nancy) Terry, Roger (Vicki) Terry and Dennis (Onie) Terry; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Andria, James, Jr., Joshua, Caleb, Bobbi Lynn, Richard, Kaley, Brandon and step-grandchild McKenzie, along with four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Windle was preceded in death by his sisters, Gail Harris, sister and Brenda Conwell and his brother, Allen Terry.
There will be a memorial service held Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Freshwater Community Church, 600 East Michigan Ave., Paw Paw with Pastor Troy Gentz officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
