Alfred "Fred" John Renfer, III, 84, of Lawrence passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022.
He was born November 7, 1937 in Bangor, Michigan, the son of Alfred John Renfer II and Mary (Bajo) DeForest.
Fred graduated from Bangor High School. He worked as a truck driver for many years prior to retirement. He loved Black Powder Shooting and in 2000 was inducted into the Northwest Council at Manistee.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Jane Renfer, his half brother, Ted Lupina, step son, Stephen Boitnott, grandson, Matthew Tartaglia and great granddaughter, Sara Boitnott.
He is survived by his son, AJ Renfer, IV; daughter, Shiela Renfer; his wife's children, James Boitnott, Diana (John) Reist, Larry (Sue Ann) Boitnott, Patrick (Vicki) Boitnott, Sandra (Jeffery) Tartaglia and Rose (Kirk Goodrich) Boitnott; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, two sisters, Rosemary (Randy) Knoll and Betty Korzilius.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 29, 2022, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home where a celebration of life will begin at 10:30 a.m. Following the service, there will be a time of food and fellowship at the funeral home. Burial will then follow at Hill Cemetery, Lawrence. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
