David Conner

December 3, 1929 ~ May 16, 2022 (age 92)

David Conner of Paw Paw, Michigan, passed away at his home at the age of 92 on Monday, May 16, 2022. Dave was born in Three Rivers, December 3, 1929, the only son to the late Levi Conner and Ester (Hoger) Conner.

Dave lived a fulfilling and rewarding life. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War, being honorably discharged in 1952. He had been a longtime resident of Paw Paw, where he raised his four children and enjoyed a 35 year career with the Michigan State Police. Dave played many roles with the state police, retiring at the age of 54, ending his career in the motor carrier division in Paw Paw. Dave, being a car enthusiast, began his retirement by buying a new Cadillac. He had a deep love for cars and for many years, enjoyed his 1951 green Chevy that he shared with others at many car shows. He always looked forward to car shows and museums to share his love for these classics with other vintage car lovers.

Dave kept him self busy by working for his son at Dave's Window and Glass. He would begin each day with a strict regiment, including his outfits for the season. Dave loved his family and spending time with them. It was his treat to make true homemade spaghetti on everyone's birthday. He was a longtime member at the First Presbyterian Church of Paw Paw, where he will be remembered for offering hugs to many on Sundays at church.

On March 17, 1990, Dave was united in marriage to Patricia (Baldwin) Conner who survives.

He is also survived by his two daughters, Phyllis Allen and Doris (Randy) Conner-Vanhyfte; two sons, David Conner, Jr. and Patrick (Linda) Conner; three step-children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dave was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine "Connie"  Burke.
