Lawton

Gaylann Sue (Stuut) Morse, 56, of Lawton, MI passed away on May 13, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was born in Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI on August 14, 1962, the daughter of Richard Stuut and Sandra (Hissong) Plunkett and raised by her beloved dad, Hughie Plunkett.
Gayl graduated from Lawton Community Schools in 1980.  She was Miss Lawton that same year.  Her family is deeply imbedded in the community going back to her Great Grandfather.
After graduating from Lawton, Gayl worked as an administrative assistant at Western Michigan University Pulp and Paper School.  She always said, it was the best job she ever had.  Everyone in the Paper School absolutely loved her!!  Professors, co-workers, students, absolutely everyone.
Gayl adored her family with all her heart.  She always put her family first in everything she did.  Her greatest joys were her twin daughters Nichole (Matthew) Sparks and Jessica (Steven) Schultz.  That was eventually trumped by her two beautiful grandchildren, Kinsley Sparks and Easton Schultz.  They were the absolute love of her life, her universe, her everything.  Gayl is survived by her husband Steven Morse, Brother Brad Plunkett, Aunt Phillis (Hissong) Peterson (Judge David Peterson) and Mother Sandra Plunkett.

A Celebration of Gayl’s life will be held on Friday, June 7th from 4pm to 7pm at the Lawton Community Center.
