Gregory Bernard Schaner

July 15, 1961 — January 8, 2023

Watervliet

Greg began his life in Hart, Michigan, July 15, 1961, son to the late Bernard Leo Schaner and Margaret Mary (Jensen) Schaner. He was one of ten children, having seven sisters and two brothers. Greg was an avid outdoorsman and had a passion for hunting, especially deer hunting. He was also an avid fisherman, often on the Paw Paw River or Lake Michigan. His infectious smile drew others to him, and he had a special way that he told stories about his life's experiences. There was a soft spot in his heart for animals, he was always known to have a black dog at his side. He had a special bond with his mother and honored her annually with a bouquet of daffodil's.

Greg is survived by his lifelong friend, Kelly Cotman, six sisters, Anne (Tom) Lefor, Kathleen Schaner, Bernadette (Rudy) Neumeier, Veronica (Allen) Stefanski, Christine (Mark) Parker and Magdalen Schaner; two brothers, Phillip (Kristin) Schaner and Matthew (Cyndi) Schaner, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Rose Martens.

Services for Greg will be private. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Two Rivers Coalition.
