Isiah W. Shepard, 69, of Kalamazoo, MI, passed away Thursday April 27, 2023.

He was born November 8, 1953, in Chicago. Isiah grew up in Chicago and relocated to Bangor Michigan for a short time before settling in Kalamazoo, Michigan and then Scotts. He worked as a bouncer in Kalamazoo for many years, where he established many friendships. In his younger years, Isiah started out as a professional boxer and had the privilege of meeting Muhammad Ali. He also worked security for concerts over the years. He loved watching wrestling, John Wayne and the old Westerns and playing with his many dogs.

He is survived by his longtime partner, Sharon Vandiver of Galesburg, one son, Nathaniel Hoffman, five brothers, Bob, Tyrice, Claude, and Percy, two sisters, Debby and Diane, two daughters, Christine Johnson and Amy Steger; two stepdaughters, Tiffany and Nicole, one stepson, Steven (Jodi), six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren.

Isiah was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Shepard and his brother, Tom Shepard.

Family and friends are invited to visit Saturday, May 13, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw, where a memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with
