Obituary

James William Britt Jr., 73, of Paw Paw, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023. Bill was born in Fort Worth, Texas, August 19, 1949. He was the only son of James W. Britt Sr.and Bessie "Inez" (Harris) Britt. He served his country in the Army, stationed in Germany. He was married to Linda Britt who preceded him in death October 20, 2018.

Bill was a man full of life and adventure. He was a true outdoorsman and living out in the country, he was able to enjoy four wheelers, ATV's and shooting. This lifestyle also allowed him to raise his beloved pit bull dogs. Anyone that had conversation with Bill would recall his extensive knowledge regarding history. There was no conversation that was not turned into a history lesson. This also went right along with his love for t.v. shows like Forensic Files. Baseball was Bill's favorite sport to follow. He was an avid Tigers Fan! He knew the value of family and friends and cherished the times he was able to spend with them. He would enjoy sipping in his favorite whisky and of course eating junk food. The grandchildren were his favorite, he loved to spoil them with any candy and all the junk food they wanted.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Ashley (Kevin) Mead of Decatur, son, William Travis (Amber) Britt of Paw Paw, five grandchildren, Erin Zirkle-Britt, Inez Mead, Anna Mead, Sadie Imus and Emma Imus; three great-grandchildren,Victor Vigil, Kaylee Cowan and Oslie Cowan. In addition to his wife, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Britt.
