Larry passed away Friday morning, October 29, 2021 at his home in Paw Paw. He was born June 14, 1930 in Hartford, MI, the son of Ursella (Cahenzli) and Claude Field. He began his pipefitter apprenticeship on October 31, 1949 out of Local 597 (Chicago). When he moved back to Michigan, he worked and was a member of Local 337/357 Plumbers/Pipefitters (Kalamazoo) and maintained his membership until his passing (71 years). Larry was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Paw Paw. Larry enjoyed repairing/rebuilding cars and tractors, working on/building a total of 7 houses, in which 3 were his own. He also enjoyed bowling, gardening, and going to his grandchildren’s sporting events. On April 7, 1956 in Lemont, IL, Larry was united in marriage to Elizabeth L. Hoster, who preceded him in death on 6/8/2010. Survivors include five children, Don Field of Paw Paw, Dave (Ann) Field of Paw Paw, Deb (Steve) Bizzis of Portage, Sharon Zwalua of Mattawan, and Sheila Croy of Paw Paw, 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, Brother Ted (Ginny) Field of Lawrence, and numerous nieces/nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister (Lois Field), brother Arthur Field, brother Raymond Field, sister Betty (Field) Tarantino, and sister Elaine (Field) Maxa. Family will receive friends at St. Mary’s Church, Paw Paw, on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Paw Paw with Rev. Fr. Alan Jorgensen celebrant. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s School or church.
