Paw Paw

Norma Jean Stull, 85, of Paw Paw, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2020, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born on February 19, 1934, in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of Verle and Geneva (Godfrey) Rau.

Norma graduated from Niles High School. She married her husband James Stull on September 17, 1955, celebrating 52 years of marriage and raising four beautiful children. They were members of United Methodist Church in Paw Paw. Norma worked for Paw Paw Elementary School as an aide for 20 years.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and crafting with her good friend Katie Nugteren; gatherings with life-long friends the Richardson’s, Fooy’s, Lantz’s, Krueger’s, and Hall’s; and spending time with her 14 grandchildren. She made special photo albums for each grandchild upon graduation, along with annual Christmas ornaments, which are memorable and treasured keepsakes. Norma was also blessed with twelve great-grandchildren.

Norma will be remembered for her love of her family, as she was notorious for her self-sacrifice and concern of others, their comfort, and their happiness. She will also be remembered for her unrivaled work ethic, which was both rare and admirable, and will always be a wonderful example for those who knew her. Her sense of humor and engaging conversation will be missed.

Surviving are her children, Robert Stull, Sandra (William) Justus; Donald (Rhonda) Stull, and Lynn (Mark) Serbenski; Grandchildren, Jeff (Lindsay) Stull, Bryan Stull, Lauren Modak, Kevin Justus, Megan (Brad) Slavick, Kyle Justus, Maggie (Kris) Kreter, Clay (Jessica) Stull, Alex Stull, Kaitlyn (Curtis) Dietrich, Emily (Mike) Grabemeyer, Nick Serbenski, Jessica Serbenski, and Liz Serbenski, and special niece Shirley (Stull) Worden; and many other friends and beloved family members. Norma was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James. Also preceding her in death were her sister Beverly Davidson and brother Dale Rau.
