Phyllis Theresa (Giangrosso) Scaccia

Phyllis Theresa Scaccia, 93, of Paw Paw, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021 at her home.

She was born March 21, 1928 in Chicago, the daughter of Anthony Giangrosso and Mary (Venezio) Giangrosso.

On July 5, 1948 in Chicago, she married Sam Scaccia who preceded in death April 13, 1994.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael (Carmella) Scaccia and Jim (Sharon) Scaccia; two daughters, Pamela (Michael) Bain and Lori (Tom) Black; daughter in law, Nancy Scaccia, eleven grandchildren; Peter (Chrissy) Scaccia, Tom (Amanda) Scaccia, Jimmy Scaccia, Mark (Kacey) Scaccia, Beth Scaccia, Anthony (Cordalya) Scaccia, Rebecca (Jef) Walls, Eric (Kelsey) Bain, Kevin Bain, Tyler (Victoria) Black and Morgan (Chris) Foote, fourteen great grandchildren; Allie, Alana, Austin, Gabrielle, Megan, Ryan, Jackson, Jayda, Justin, Connor, Maddie, Benson, Emma, Dominic and Baby Bain on the way.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Scaccia, two sisters, Laura and Sadie and two brothers, Peter and Carl.

Phyllis was a longtime dedicated parishioner at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Paw Paw, she enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo. Phyllis was very close with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 9:00 am - 10:30 am at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 am at Saint Mary Catholic Church, Paw Paw, with Rev. Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen celebrating. Cremation will follow. Burial will take place at Saint Mary Cemetery at a later date.
