We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Adams Funeral Home
Richard Ambs began his journey in life on March 26, 1944. He was raised by a beloved aunt and uncle, Clarence and Margaret Harter, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his sister, Jacqueline.
Richard leaves a wife, Rita, daughter Susan, brother-in-law, Reid (Diane) Fuller, along with many nieces, nephews and honorary daughters.
He graduated from Paw Paw High School in 1962. He then served four years in the United States Air Force as a jet engine mechanic.
Richard’s aunt and uncle owned a business that he grew up around. He loved trucks and travel, making a career of it until his retirement. He loved to fly and earned his private pilots license and commercial rating. His daughter enjoyed many adventures and loved flying with her dad.
Later in life Richard and Rita purchased a fifth wheel trailer and loved to go camping. He enjoyed meeting new people and talking with them.
Richard’s journey ended in the early morning of July 19, 2022. He will be greatly missed.
There will be a luncheon at the Almena United Methodist Church 27503 C.R. 375, Paw Paw, on Friday July 29, 2022, following a graveside service at Glendale Cemetery in Paw Paw at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Len Schoenherr.
