Richard Lee Neterer's life began in Goshen, IN, where he was born May 4, 1956 to the late Robert and Grace (Keil) Neterer. From a young age, Rich was dedicated to his work. He worked for Bill Knapp's Restaurants for 23 years, the majority of those years as a manager and eventually transitioning to HVAC service work for their many restaurants. He earned his Mechanical Contractor license and went on to another 24-year fulfilling career with C. L. Mahoney Company in Kalamazoo. He was a 25-year member of Local 357 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union. Rich was forced to retire shortly after being diagnosed with ALS.
Rich had a gift for troubleshooting and fixing just about anything and was sought out repeatedly for his knowledge. He coached soccer with AYSO for many years, as well as Paw Paw Youth Baseball. He also served as an Assistant Scoutmaster with Paw Paw Troop 169. Rich held a strong faith and was an active member of the Paw Paw United Methodist Church where he wore many hats. Rich enjoyed attending classic car shows and showing his car. He also enjoyed maintaining his yard and many plantings.
Rich passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo with his wife by his side.
